HPE DP: How to show licenses in HPE Data Protector 9.x and install new licenses


To view licenses you can use GUI and CLI.

GUI:

Help -> Licenses


Reporting-> Tasks->Configuration->Licensing Report



CLI:

omnirpt.exe -report licensing
omnicc -password_info
omnicc -check_licenses
omnicc -gre_license_info
omnicc -check_licenses  -detail

File with licenses is located in folder: 
C:\ProgramData\OmniBack\Config\Server\cell\lic.dat

Next run omnidb -strip in orgder to strip objects whose protection has expired:

C: \Users\Administrator>omnidb -strip
Objects whose protection has expired successfully stripped.

Also you could manually remove expired session and session massages older than XX days:

omnidbutil -purge -sessions XX
omnidbutil -purge -messages XX

To remove all backups whose catalog protection has expired, use the:

omnidbutil -purge -dcbf

After that recomended to start omnidbutil -fixmpos :

omnidbutil –fixmpos
DONE!


DP IDB may hold multiple copies of failed objects made during a backup. These multiple copies of failed objects may overload an IDB.  A special purge, omnidbutil -purge_failed_copies, removes any failed objects that are not the original from the IDB.

HP Data Protector 9.04 now support VMware vSphere 6, VDDK6, and VVOL

VMware vSphere 6.0 Support
The release of 9.04 provides supports VMware vSphere 6, VDDK6, and VVOL’s:  HP Data Protector support for newvmware.pngVMware releases and underlying technologies means that customers can upgrade their virtual environments with the assurance that the interoperability between HP Data Protector and VMware vSphere exists, is integrated and has been tested/validated.

Migration guide from HPOM to OMi 10.01



HPE has updated the manual "OMi Operations Bridge Evolution Guide" that describes how to migrate form Hp OM (HP OMW, HP OMU, HP OML) to HP OMi software. The document provides a detailed comparasion of the functional software HPOM functionality with OMi functionality.
HP Omi 10 the first version meant to replace HPOM. HP OMi 10 can be considered the successor of HPOM. HP Omi can provide additional value:
  • Linkage to the RTSM
  • Modern, web-based user interface
  • Extended event automation capabilities including automatically assigning events to users and time-based automatic triggering event updates and actions
  • Multidimensional approach to calculating service health
  • Integration capabilities via the BSM Connectors or
  • Advanced topology-based event automation
HP offers an Operations Bridge License Exchange Program. It provides Operations Manager customers with an easy, standard way to exchange their HPOM Management Server, HPOM Basic Suite, Operations Agent/Operations OS Instance, Operations SPI and Reporter licenses to Operations Bridge Premium and OMi Management Pack licenses.

Archive events other than acknowledge events:
ovowmsgutil -dnl h:\history\messages -exp "State <> 4"

Acknowledge from particular date :
ovowmsgutil -ack -exp "TimeOfStateChangeTimeStamp < '2015-04-01'"

Delete Message which are acknoledged in step 02:
ovowmsgutil -del -exp "State =  4 AND TimeOfStateChangeTimeStamp < '2015-04-01'"

Deleting messages from OMU and OML:

The first step:
opcackmsgs -g demo_wmi  -n demonode
Then:
opchistdwn -older 0s -fi le /tmp/history
or
opchistdwn -from 02/01/15 -until 03/22/15
